Acceptable Use Policy

The short version: do not use MeshTale to hold or process things you have no right to, and do not try to reach data that is not yours.

This policy applies to everyone using MeshTale, on any plan including the free tier. It sits alongside our terms of service.

You must not

Handle content you have no right to

  • Upload or connect material you are not authorized to access or store
  • Ingest content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property
  • Process personal data about people who have not been told, where the law requires that they are
  • Store special-category data — health, biometric, financial account credentials — without an agreement with us that covers it

Attempt to cross a boundary

  • Access another organization’s or workspace’s data, or try to
  • Probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission
  • Use credentials that are not yours, or share your own beyond your organization
  • Attempt to defeat permission checks, rate limits or plan allowances

Cause harm

  • Build or operate anything designed to harass, defraud, or unlawfully surveil another person
  • Generate or distribute unlawful material
  • Use the service to make automated decisions about people that have a legal or similarly significant effect on them, without meaningful human review
  • Distribute malware, or use the service to attack anything

Degrade the service

  • Send traffic designed to overwhelm the service or its providers
  • Resell access without an agreement with us
  • Use automated means to extract the service’s own content or structure at scale

Security research

We welcome it, with notice. Contact us before testing, keep any finding private until it is fixed, and do not access, modify or retain data belonging to anyone else. We will not pursue anyone who follows that.

What happens if this is breached

Depending on severity we may contact you, restrict a feature, suspend an account, or terminate. Where the risk is serious and immediate we may act first and explain afterwards. Where we can give notice and a chance to fix it, we will.

Reporting

If you believe someone is using MeshTale in breach of this policy, tell us through our contact page. Include enough detail for us to investigate.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be announced before they take effect.
